“A large part of nurturing a spirit of creativity comes from being mindful, slowing down, observing, and looking around you at the beauty and inspiration all around.” ~ Amanda Blake Soule (AKA SouleMama) from The Creative Family

This past week has been sublime. The weather has been sunny and dry. I’ve been on a mission to get the attachlings out and playing every day. These beautiful days where we can play and explore without hats, hoods and boots are numbered.

But when I look back on the week I do not feel rushed or pushed or like we were chaotic. Perhaps this is because we spent so much of our week in nature…and 2 of the 5 days playing with friends.

The real revelation, though, is related to the above quote. Though we were occupied, we were not ‘busy.’ We were mindful, observant, meandering and inspired.

Friday was awesome. We went to a park with a small nature center and the attachlings chose going out on trails instead of the playground. I followed, not led. {{{{bliss}}}}

Finding my way by following my heart…instead of looking around to see what other families are doing….so simple, yet revolutionary.
